Ali Atkinson

Ali has learned a thing or two over her 25-year career. Some fantastic professional opportunities and important lessons have shaped the way she works, vastly increased her skill set and enabled her to seek out the people, projects and businesses that light her fire. She’s learned a lot about what to do (and what not to do), and has an unwavering commitment to working in the best interest of clients, even if that means turning down work.

She’s delivered great marketing, communications, sales, and community engagement projects in the government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. She has significant experience in publishing, advertising, writing, campaign management, science and natural resources communication, project management, strategy, digital media, corporate video and photography, social media, events and sponsorship, NFP association membership marketing, small business, media, property and agribusiness.

Ali is a highly knowledgeable big picture strategic thinker with expert implementation skills and a fantastic ‘on time and to budget’ attitude. She’s tertiary qualified and a member of the Australian Marketing Institute. She trusts her gut and her creative instincts, and backs it up with proven methods. Instinctively, she knows that the best way to achieve great results for her clients is to tune in and understand their needs but be prepared to challenge old ideas. Ian Atkinson

Ian is a highly experienced and qualified professional who has successfully performed in a wide range of leadership roles across a variety of industry sectors for over 30 years. This experience is now available to clients of Short Sharp & Shiny in the form of distilled and insightful analysis across a range of disciplines and sectors.  Ian works with clients and other Short Sharp & Shiny consultants on strategic analysis and planning in a very targeted and efficient manner.

One of his core strengths is in the use of communications and training to assist individuals, regions and industries to adapt and succeed. These skills were put to use initially in agricultural extension then in industry development, and later to the commercialisation of research outcomes. The parallels between the skills and tools needed for successful extension practice versus great marketing are obvious to the seasoned practitioner. Ian’s skills in these areas have been honed through both practice and tertiary training, not to mention many years of discussion and debate with Ali.

Helping individual businesses, NFP organisations, industry organisations, and even regional areas do better through strategic planning and facilitated leadership is an area of work Ian would love to help you with.
